England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland has experienced the coldest winter season for more than 30 years,
weather experts have said. The provisional average winter temperature of 2.4C (36.3F) in England was the lowest
since 1978/9. This winter is the third coldest in the last 50 years and 10th coldest in the last 120 years.
